Ever wondered why Fuerteventura has some of the best golden sand beaches in the world.  The answer lies in this Nasa photo taken on 22nd February 2020.  A low pressure area created a huge sandstorm sucking in millions of tonnes of golden sand from the Sahara and depositing it on the Canary Islands.  Although a rare event over 1000's of years these type of weather events have formed the extensive Corralejo sand dunes and created the wonderful golden sand beaches Fuerteventura is famous for.
